--ISP truly is a special place. As an alumni (class of '04) I feel incredibly lucky to have attended this school, and it has prepared me for a lot in my life ahead. It's great you want to be a part of the students' lives, being a teenager is not easy :)
--I’m so inspired by your blog. It is so important for school leaders to model digital citizenship and being connected with educators in an increasingly connected world. Thank you for sharing this, and reminding us that you can build community, bond with students, and learn so much, just by listening.
I look forward to reading more of your posts!
--I am inspired by your “Edge in Education” approach to parent education. We call ours Coffee Mornings… and I reckon it just doesn’t inspire – parents spend quite enough time drinking coffee! I will do more research on your site and suggest a major rethink to the way we work with parents.
--I like the way aspects of the philosophy of Star Trek are tied to the schools own vision for design thinking and how much of this out of box dialogue leverages change in an impactful way, nice post.
--I love the “growth mindset” concept. It’s one of those concepts that gives shape to something teachers have intuitively attempted to cultivate forever.
--Having your Edge of Education parent group must be a powerful force for nurturing a growth mindset in the community. Very nice idea. Thanks for sharing!
--"This is such a motivating piece! No pun intended....the TED talk really makes me think about how I facilitate learning in my class each day. I am inspired to support even more the passions of my students. Thank you for these insights!"
"And I thought I was alone in the education world. This is one of the best articles I have ever read on the grading system. So many people left behind from the old system.
i got goosebumps !!!!"
"I love the “grading goulasch” image. Thanks for continuing to push the envelope and do the brave work that our students depend on."
"Arnie, this is really well-written and so filled with meaning about our work. What inspiration!"
"I have been following this blog with a lot of interest; being in a school that constantly promotes innovation and 21st century initiatives, I especially liked reading about “setting time aside” for the faculty to reflect and think about our practice. I feel we are too often “too busy’, leading fast- pace lives to take that moment for reflection."
